At Jubilee Opera we bring the world of opera to life for children of all ages. From the nurturing environment of the rehearsal room through to captivating performances, we introduce young people and audiences to the enchanting world of music, theatre and story-telling. There is a place for everyone in our operatic adventures. We believe that the stage is a place where there are no rules, regulations, governments, targets or boundaries. The stage belongs to the people on it, where they are free to express themselves and free to dream.
Our Mission is to inspire a lifelong love for opera by making it fun, accessible, meaningful and empowering for young performers. Through creativity, teamwork and professional guidance, we nurture talent, build confidence and create beguiling performances that celebrate the artistry of children. Our aim is to give local children and young people, with so little opportunity elsewhere, particularly in schools, the chance to discover their own abilities and to develop their musical and performance skills, thus engendering a lifelong love of the performance arts. This is what lies at the heart of Jubilee Opera’s ethos.
Why Opera? Opera is a magical fusion of music, singing, theatre, design, dance and storytelling. It helps children develop confidence and stage presence, express emotions creatively and imaginatively, build friendships through teamwork, find their own natural voice and experience the thrill of live performance.
